Rick Hamill, JDUK Garage Door Technical Support Engineer and Rob Shaw, Operations Manager at JDUK Door Systems, have been very busy of late, supporting the company and its customers with introduction of the Wisniowski range of sectional and side-hinged garage doors and aluminium and steel entrance doors. This has meant trips to Wisniowski’s impressive facilities in Poland, as well as assisting customers with their first fits onsite back in the UK. We caught up with them to find out more about what they’ve been up to…
Rick’s Bits
Rick said, “It’s been a busy few weeks, what with visiting Wisniowski in Poland and being out on the road doing assisted installations for our customers with the new sectional doors.
First of all, the visit to Wisniowski was great, a real eye opener to how huge a company they are and how organised they are. The staff are great and I think that they really enjoyed having Rob and myself there, with us having the same understanding of garage doors.
We even got to sample the local 70 percent vodka, which is not for the faint-hearted!
Back in the UK, I have been out and about installing side sprung sectionals and front torsion Wisniowski sectional garage doors with our customers. The torsion sectionals have been a good learning curve, not only for the fitters but also myself. After all, you’re never too old to learn! This hands-on experience has allowed us to quickly develop the support and resources our customers need to order and install our new products with confidence and ease.
On the whole, I have had a lot of positive feedback from the fitters and also the end users who love their new doors.
During one assisted install, myself and the marketing team produced a series of step-by-step installation videos for installers to watch prior to and during installing the doors. Rob’s Bobs
Rob Shaw has been at JDUK now for nearly 9 years. In that time, he’s helped grow the business and bring new products to market, and has then been integral in the development of both products and processes, in line with customer feedback and market requirements. He explains, “We listen, we improve, we move forward!”
Rob says, “Throughout the years we take great value in customer feedback. From the early days, when our first sectional doors hit the UK, we’ve constantly developed and improved the products we provide.
In our very early days with Wisniowski, this philosophy is still at the heart of our business. The latest change, in a line of planned developments, is the way we package our sectional doors.
The latest improvement is the reduction in the size of our crated doors, to make them slimmer and easier to handle.
We’ve removed the hardware box, tracks, and profiles, to make it easier to transport to site. As we said at our open days, we have a continued schedule of improvements planned for our range of Wisniowski sectional doors and side hinge garage doors. And there’s more to follow. So please stay tuned.”
